The IEEE PES Kerala Chapter, in collaboration with Amrita School of AI, hosted
AI PowerEdge – Session 3, a webinar centered on
Innovations in Energy & E-Mobility. The session took place on
June 25th, 2025, and featured
Dr. Roger Alves de Oliveira, a Postdoctoral Researcher in Electrical
Energy Systems at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Netherlands, as
the speaker. Dr. Oliveira presented on
Deep Learning for Pattern Recognition and Anomaly Detection in Power
Quality Big Data, exploring how deep learning is transforming the
detection of faults, patterns, and anomalies in complex energy systems.

Participants engaged actively, gaining valuable insights into the
intersection of AI and power systems. The webinar was designed to provide
an understanding of advanced algorithms and their application in enhancing
energy efficiency and reliability. The event was considered a success, with
attendees appreciating the opportunity to learn from a leading researcher in
